I’ve had this screencap from Les Yeux Sans Visage on my computer for a year or two atleast. So, I did something with it.
I recently discovered LESS (Leaner CSS) and I’ve been messing around with converting this blog and other recent projects to LESS syntax to try it out. Holy fuck, it’s awesome. The first thing that struck me was the option to set variables like the @column and @gutter in the image. Then, you can use mathematical operations to set values. This makes operating within a grid system much easier. Before I had to memorize lots of widths for every grid in order to size elements (and still do, but you get me). I don’t know if this excites most of my readers, but I just had to let people know about this if they hadn’t seen it. I taught myself CSS a while back, and while you should really understand it without this, it makes life so much easier.
The website shows how to install the LESS Ruby gem that compiles .less files into .css files. It’s pretty easy to install on a Mac or atleast it was for me. The newest version is javascript though and operates within the browser. So, there’s really no installation necessary. I’m using LESS.app (best software page ever, funny shit) to compile locally just because that makes more sense to me. I’m using an outdated version though because the newest are Intel only.

SPACEKNUCKLE‘s work has me pretty wet right now. This image is in a series done for Linkin Park (yeah, yeah, but it’s dope as fuck). Definitely check out the rest of his work.
This particular image reminds me of JK Keller’s Tantamountains and Reverse Portraits projects.

Really into this installation. Most of the images are of or from the WMAP, a NASA craft launched in 2001 which measures differences in the temperature of the Big Bang’s remnant radiant heat. The image used in installation is the seven-year data released in January of this year. According to this data the universe is 13.75 ±0.11 bln. years old. Make sure you click-through to his site for more images.
I think this is exactly what Prodigy was talking about when he said ‘that crazy space shit that even don’t make no sense’.

Sarah Coterell’s portfolio look-book by Miles Gould. Designing a book is still high on my list of things to do soon.
